If you own a School In Nigeria,
You already know This Feeling.

You started your school with a vision But somewhere between managing staff, chasing school fees, handling parents and putting out daily fires — the vision got blurred.

Enrollment Anxiety

Every term, you're anxious about how many students will return. You run adverts, you ask around, you pray. There has to be a better way to grow.

You Can't Step Away

You can't take a day off without something going wrong. The school runs on you — your presence, your decisions, your energy. It's exhausting.

Staff Who Drain You

You hire people, you train them, and just when they're good — they leave. Or worse, they stay but stop trying. Managing people is draining you.

💸

Money Never Adds Up

The school is generating revenue but somehow there's never enough. Fee collection is a struggle, budgeting feels impossible, and funding feels out of reach.

"4 in 6 schools in Nigeria shut down within 5 years of opening."

Nigerian Schools Most are just keeping the lights on.

But
You're not failing

You were just NEVER TAUGHT how to
Run a School like a Business.

That's exactly what SMI fixes.

About SMI

From Running a School to Leading One

SMI is a 6-week immersive training program designed for school owners in Africa. Every week, you learn, implement and grow — guided by experienced school founders who've built what you're building. No theory without practice. No training without tools.

Not theory. Practice.

Frameworks and assignments you implement directly in your school. By graduation, the work is already done.

Not alone. Mentored.

Led by founders who've built what you're building. They've made the mistakes so you don't have to.

Not just training. Tools.

Hands-on access to the same tech top schools worldwide use to scale. You operate the tools live.

Post Training. Always Guided.

Support from our alumni and mentor community continues long after the program ends.

📍 Abuja — August 2026

What you will learn in 6 weeks

12 modules. Each one tackles a real problem you're facing in your school right now.

🛠 Hands-on — live software assignment High Impact — linked to 53% enrollment growth Foundation — structural base every school needs
Right now your school exists because of you — your presence, your hustle, your energy. This module helps you build a vision so clear and compelling that your staff chase it when you're not watching, parents defend it in their communities, and your school outlives its founder. You leave with a written vision framework embedded into how your school operates.
This is a live, hands-on session. You will set up and operate a real school management system from scratch — not watch a demo, not take notes. By the end of this module your school will be running on the same technology infrastructure that high-performing schools across Nigeria, India and the Middle East use every day. No prior tech experience required.
You hired people to help — not to create more work. This module gives you the delegation frameworks, performance systems and leadership culture that turn your staff from a daily headache into your school's biggest asset. You will design a team structure where accountability flows without you chasing anyone — and where your best people want to stay and grow.
From morning assembly to end-of-term reporting, every key process in your school will be mapped, documented and turned into a repeatable system. This live session walks you through the exact operational blueprint used by professionally run schools. The output: a school that functions at full capacity whether you're present or travelling or simply taking a day off.
Most private schools in Nigeria are structured like family businesses — and that is exactly why banks, investors and development organisations won't fund them. This module helps you build the governance infrastructure that signals institutional seriousness: board structure, policy frameworks, decision hierarchies and reporting systems that make your school look — and function — like the serious enterprise it is.
This is the module that changes enrollment from a prayer into a process. You will build your Automated Growth and Student Acquisition Engine — a system that generates leads, converts enquiries and retains students term after term without you chasing anyone. The 53% growth figure is not a projection. It is the average outcome our graduates have recorded applying this exact framework in their schools.
In this live session you will set up an automated parent communication system — term updates, fee reminders, achievement announcements, crisis communications. Parents who feel genuinely valued don't just renew; they refer. This module shows you exactly how to build that emotional connection at scale, so your community becomes a self-sustaining growth engine you didn't have to pay for.
Your school already has a reputation — the question is whether you control it. This module walks you through building a brand that parents talk about, staff are proud of, and competitors struggle to copy. You will define your positioning, your promise, your messaging and the visual identity that tells your story before you say a single word. Your brand is your most durable competitive advantage.
Most school owners don't actually know if their school is profitable. This module gives you a financial system built specifically for schools — fee collection structures, budget frameworks, expense controls and revenue planning. You will leave knowing exactly where every naira goes, how to forecast the next term, and what your school needs to look like financially before any serious funder takes you seriously.
Operating without the right legal structure is a risk you can no longer afford — and most school owners don't realise the exposure they're carrying. This module walks you through the registrations, policy documents, staff employment contracts, student agreements and compliance requirements your school needs. The goal: a legally protected school that no parent complaint, staff dispute or regulatory visit can destabilise.
Money to grow your school exists. It is simply not looking for an unprepared school owner. This module teaches you how to position your school for funding, write a compelling pitch, and approach education investors, government grants, development finance institutions and philanthropic foundations. SMI graduates have used this module to access funding they had spent years thinking was out of reach.
In this live session you will explore the exact pathways that allow your school to admit international students, pursue international accreditation and connect to global school networks. You will see clearly what separates a local school from a globally recognised institution — and map your first concrete steps toward that status. For graduates ready to think beyond their city, this module opens the door.

Learn from people who have actually done it

SMI mentors are not consultants reading from slides. They are school founders, directors and education leaders who have built what you are trying to build — and they volunteer their time because they believe in this mission.

No mentors are confirmed for your city yet — but the global pool mentors every cohort. See the full global pool →

Kenechukwu "KC" Nsofor is one of the few mentors in this programme who has done exactly what SMI participants are trying to do ù build a school from the ground up and scale it. Upon graduation, he took over its management and over the next 17 years grew it into a network of four campuses serving over 2,500 students ù earning a top 10 ranking among schools in Anambra State. As Director of Learning at Field International School, KC brings knowledge no textbook can replicate: the operational realities of multi-campus management, teacher retention, school finance under pressure, and the systems that allow a school to grow without falling apart. FAQs

SMI is strictly for school decision-makers — proprietors, proprietresses, directors and co-founders who have full authority over how their school is run. If you own or direct a school and you are serious about growing it professionally, this program is for you. Teachers, administrative staff and general education enthusiasts are not eligible.
There is no catch. The August 2026 Abuja cohort is 100% sponsored through SMI's partnership with Sterling Bank Nigeria. You pay nothing at application, nothing during the program and nothing at graduation. The only thing we ask is that you show up, do the work and implement what you learn.
Absolutely. Some of our most transformed graduates came in running schools with fewer than 50 students. In fact, smaller schools often implement changes faster and see results sooner. SMI is not about the size of your school today — it is about the size of your vision for what it becomes.
No travel required. The entire program runs virtually via Zoom — live, instructor-led sessions you attend from wherever your school is. All you need is a smartphone or laptop and a reliable internet connection. Sessions are scheduled for evenings so they do not interfere with your school day.
Your application goes into a review queue. Our team personally reviews every application and responds within 48 hours. If accepted, you receive an official offer for the August cohort. If not accepted for this cohort, we will let you know why and invite you to apply for the next one. Either way, you will hear from us.
The August 2026 cohort is currently open for Abuja. If your state is listed as Coming Soon, you can register your interest and we will personally reach out the moment your local cohort opens. SMI is expanding city by city across all six geopolitical zones — your state is on the map.
